NTA Postpones CUET UG 2024 Exam in Delhi to May 29 Due to Manpower Issues

CUET UG

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 for candidates in Delhi. The exams scheduled for May 15 in the national capital have been rescheduled to May 29 due to manpower issues.

In an official notice released on Tuesday, the NTA stated, “It is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry -306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in Centres across Delhi only. The examination will now be held on 29 of May 2024. The revised admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in center across Delhi.”

The NTA cited the ongoing Lok Sabha elections as the reason behind the manpower shortage for the May 15 exam in Delhi. “CUET UG is held at a large scale, and we had selected several exam centres and invigilators are deployed for this process. However, we were facing issues in getting an appropriate amount of invigilators in Delhi exam centres for the May 15 exam due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. So, NTA has decided to conduct the May 15 exam after elections, i.e., May 29,” an NTA official explained.

The exams scheduled for May 15 will be conducted as per the earlier communicated schedule in all other cities across the country, including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida, as well as abroad. Further examinations scheduled on other dates (May 16, 17, 18) at all centers, including those in Delhi, will be held as scheduled.

Recently, on May 13, NTA had issued admit cards for CUET UG 2024. However, on the evening of May 13, NTA issued another notice requesting candidates to download their hall tickets only after May 14 evening, citing potential changes in the examination centers due to administrative reasons.
