New PGDMH Programme Launched by IGNOU

Candidates who meet the requirements and would like to pursue a postgraduate diploma in mental health may apply twice a year via the official website. Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (PGDMH) is being offered by the Psychology Department of the School of Social Sciences (SOSS) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

The goal of this curriculum is to give students a solid foundation in the area of mental health. The PGDMH intends to prepare graduates to handle the rising demand for mental health services by conducting in-depth studies of a wide range of psychological disorders and concerns.

Necessary Qualifications
To enroll for the IGNOU PG diploma in Mental Health course, candidates must have earned a master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or medicine (allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, homeopathy, yoga & naturopathy), or it can be a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery (BDS).
Admittance. Applicants who meet the requirements may apply in July and January of each year.
Tuition. In addition to the Rs 300 registration fee, candidates must pay course costs totaling Rs 9000.

Time Frame: The Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (PGDMH) program lasts for a full year.

By educating healthcare workers in both physical and mental health, the program seeks to build people’s capacity to better meet the community’s mental health needs. Candidates will be able to take advantage of open, flexible learning, and the remote learning model lets students learn at their own speed.

The course is designed to cover a wide range f topics related to mental health, including foundations, disorders, specializations, resources, and internships.There are multiple regional study centers: one in Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Ranchi, Noida, Jabalpur, Varanasi, and Patna; two each in Bangalore, Bhopal, and Nagpur.
