Today, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) unveiled new eMasters degree programs in climate finance, business finance, fintech, and quantitative finance. These programs aim to cultivate finance professionals prepared for the future and address the escalating demand for skilled talent in the finance sector. Applications for the July 2024 batch of IIT Kanpur eMasters will remain open until March 31st, and interested candidates can apply via the official website at emasters.iitk.ac.in/economics-and-finance-masters-degree.
The duration of each program ranges from 1 to 3 years, and admission does not require a GATE score. According to a statement from IIT Kanpur, the eMasters in financial technology and management integrates fintech with traditional finance, providing professionals with a comprehensive understanding of technology’s impact on finance. Meanwhile, the eMasters in quantitative finance and risk management focuses on enhancing risk management skills through both research and practical training. The eMasters in business finance aids professionals in advancing their knowledge in finance and economics, empowering them to make strategic decisions.
Moreover, the eMasters program in climate finance and sustainability aims to meet the increasing demand for expertise in carbon management and ESG, offering specialized training in finance and environmental sustainability. These programs are offered by the Department of Management Sciences and the Department of Economic Sciences. Students will engage in live interactive weekend classes and self-paced learning modules.
The curriculum for each program is structured with 60 credits, customized to meet industry requirements, and facilitates credit transfers towards higher education opportunities such as MTech and PhD programs at IIT Kanpur.
