The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, observed its Foundation Day today with tremendous enthusiasm and zeal, commemorating 35 years of outstanding contributions in research, education, and innovation in the realm of life sciences.
In his welcome address, Dr. Debashis Dash, Director of ILS Bhubaneswar, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who have played a pivotal role in the institute’s journey of success. He underscored the significant progress achieved by ILS Bhubaneswar in advancing scientific knowledge, fostering innovation, and addressing societal challenges through interdisciplinary research initiatives.
The Foundation Day festivities commenced with a ceremonial event graced by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, researchers, and students of ILS Bhubaneswar. The event featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, scientific presentations, and cultural performances, showcasing the diverse talents and achievements of the institute’s community.
Dr. Aditya P. Das, Former Vice Chancellor of AIPH University Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. He shared insights into the journey of ILS during his tenure and conveyed his best wishes for the institute’s continued success.
Also present as the Guest of Honor was Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Chairperson of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Authority, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, and former DG ICAR. Dr. Mohapatra expressed his immense pleasure in attending the Foundation Day of ILS, commending Dr. Dash for his efforts in organizing the successful event. He acknowledged the contributions of the institute’s alumni and appreciated the significance of such gatherings at ILS.
