IIM Bangalore Welcomes New Batch of Students to its Two-year Full-time MBA Programs

The inauguration ceremony at IIM Bangalore featured a keynote address by the Chief Guest, PC Musthafa, an IIMB alumnus from the PGSEM programme, batch of 2004-07.

A new batch of students has joined IIM Bangalore for its two-year full-time MBA programmes: the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and the Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGPBA). According to a press release by IIM Bangalore, 535 PGP and 72 PGPBA students joined the cohort, with 40% of them being female students. The orientation program will run from June 11, 2024, to June 24, 2024.

Prof. Kunal Dasgupta, Chairperson of Admissions & Financial Aid and faculty member in the Economics area, highlighted, “Out of the total PGP students admitted, 11 are international students. This year, the proportion of female students has reached 40%, the highest in the last 18 years. The average work experience for PGP and PGPBA students is 27 months and 20 months, respectively, with average ages of 26 years for PGP and 24 years for PGPBA. Of the new cohort, 73% have an engineering background, 14% come from commerce, and 6% each from arts and science backgrounds.”

PC Musthafa, Founder and CEO of iD Fresh Food, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing perseverance and courage. “All this was possible because we did not give up. I had the courage to leave a well-paid job to make idlis. There was a time when we took nine months to sell 100 packets. Today, we feed idlis to more than two million Indians across the globe,” he shared.
