The recipients of this scholarship will receive full coverage of their college fees throughout their course duration and will also be provided with a laptop. Additionally, eligible students can apply to have their hostel and mess fees covered.

The Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, is launching a merit-cum-means scholarship program aimed at supporting students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. This program targets students pursuing technology-based undergraduate engineering and integrated programs (up to five years) in the top 50 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) (Engineering) colleges, including IITs.

The scholarship will be available to students with an annual family income not exceeding Rs 8.5 lakh. The ‘Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program’ primarily focuses on women students and will begin with 250 students eligible for admission in August 2024.

“The ambition is to expand reach to 4,000 scholars with an outlay of ₹100+ crore per year as the program reaches its peak,” an official statement said.

This fully funded scholarship aims to remove financial barriers that hinder access to quality education for meritorious students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Bharti Airtel Scholarships will focus on undergraduate and integrated courses in fields such as electronics and communication, telecom, information technology, computer sciences, data sciences, and emerging technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics) at the top 50 NIRF (Engineering) colleges.

Recipients of this scholarship, known as ‘Bharti Scholars’, will receive 100 percent coverage of their college fees throughout their course duration and will also receive a laptop. Additionally, eligible students can apply to have their hostel and mess fees covered.

The ‘Bharti Scholars’ will be encouraged to voluntarily support at least one student continuously once they graduate and are gainfully employed. This transformative, enduring initiative aims to shape lives and enable the youth to participate in India’s economic opportunities and growth.
