IIMA launched four elective courses in the real estate industry, which are well subscribed.
In response to the increased emphasis on luxury sectors and premium residences, IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) has introduced a real estate elective subject as part of its MBA programs.

IIMA has developed four elective courses in the real estate industry, which are well attended.
IIM Bangalore also provides real estate elective courses.
A few other colleges, including CEPT University, NICMAR University, RICS School of Build Environment, and NMIMS, provide real estate programs. However, the supply of higher education falls short of the huge demand.

IIMA will now generate high-quality real estate specialists through its suite of core and elective courses offered in various MBA programs (1-year MBA-PGPX, 2-year MBA-PGP, and 2-year MBA-FABM). Prof Prashant Das and Prof Abhiman Das are offering the courses.

Stephanie R. Yales, President of ASG and a Professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham said “Students who earn this distinction set themselves apart from their peers and join an elite group of real estate professionals. We are delighted to have a chapter of ASG (Alpha Sigma Gamma of American Real Estate Society) at IIM Ahmedabad. This partnership allows us to work together to bolster real estate education in the region and disseminate information regarding the many opportunities in this field.”

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors offers almost 900 real estate programs (bachelor’s/master’s) in the United Kingdom alone. RICS accredited programs in Australia (120), Singapore (8), and Hong Kong (61). The Urban Land Institute identifies approximately 90 colleges worldwide (60 in the United States alone) that have real estate programs or specializations. MIT, Harvard University, Wharton, Stanford, and UC Berkeley all provide real estate programs up to the PhD level.
