IIM Kozhikode Launches CARE Platform to Enhance Student Employability Beyond Job Placements

IIM Kozhikode

In a strategic shift aimed at enhancing long-term employability, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has introduced a pioneering platform called CARE—Corporate Access, Readiness, and Engagements. This initiative represents a significant move away from the traditional focus on short-term job placements, directing attention instead toward equipping students with the skills and networks necessary for sustained career success.

CARE, launched under the leadership of IIM Kozhikode Director, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, is the first initiative of its kind among IIMs, designed to align management education with the evolving demands of the job market. The platform aims to empower students by facilitating deeper industry connections, comprehensive professional development, and personalized career guidance.

The CARE platform is built on three key pillars:

  1. Corporate Access: IIM Kozhikode offers sector-specific and role-based preparatory workshops, enhancing students’ understanding of various industries and career paths. This targeted approach helps students align their skills with market needs, making them more adaptable to different roles.
  2. 2. Corporate Readiness: The platform assists students in building personalized profiles that reflect their career aspirations. Through one-on-one executive coaching sessions, led by professionals and alumni, students receive tailored guidance to help them realize their full potential and prepare for future opportunities.
  3. 3. Corporate Engagement: CARE emphasizes the importance of nurturing sustainable relationships with recruiters and fostering deep, multi-level engagement with organizations. This approach ensures that students not only secure job placements but also develop enduring professional connections that support long-term career growth.

“IIM Kozhikode believes in the ongoing process of nurturance and long-term learning, preparing students to be future-ready for their careers. CARE offers a platform for students to build networks, gain holistic perspectives, and develop the informed readiness needed to thrive in a rapidly changing workforce,” stated Prof. Chatterjee.

This initiative underscores IIM Kozhikode’s commitment to evolving its educational approach to meet the dynamic challenges of the modern job market, ensuring that its students are not just employable today but remain relevant and successful throughout their careers.
