The Director of IIM Ahmedabad expressed enthusiasm about the launch of the Online MBA program, emphasizing its role in extending the institute’s global reach and offering high-quality education to working professionals and entrepreneurs worldwide.
IIM Ahmedabad, a prestigious institute, has introduced a new two-year Online MBA program, catering to working professionals and entrepreneurs. This degree-granting postgraduate program is tailored for individuals aiming to balance the demands of their professional lives with their career ambitions. The program targets participants with a minimum work experience of three years.
The Online MBA program by IIM Ahmedabad is a blended (hybrid) offering that integrates on-campus, in-person sessions with live interactive online sessions. Tailored for an experienced cohort with a minimum of three years of work experience, the program will mainly follow an online synchronous mode, complemented by five distinct on-campus modules. Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, emphasized that the course addresses challenges faced by professionals unable to pursue a full-time MBA due to various constraints.
“The program is designed for individuals with significant leadership potential who are already contributing to the workforce. Whether due to career circumstances, where they are on a growth trajectory, or other factors such as financial, family, or location commitments, they might be unable to pursue a full-time MBA. Our program aims to cater to this audience, ensuring they have the opportunity to become future decision-makers and CEOs,” explained Professor Bharat Bhasker in a statement to the media.

This innovative program seamlessly integrates the flexibility of online learning with the richness of on-campus interaction, ensuring participants acquire the knowledge and skills essential for success in their chosen careers,” stated the Director of IIM Ahmedabad. Interested candidates with a minimum of three years of full-time work experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can apply. Admissions will be based on an admission test (IIMA Admission Test (IAT)/CAT/GMAT/GRE) and a personal interview, as per the statement from IIM Ahmedabad. Professor Pradyumana Khokle, Dean (Programmes), IIM Ahmedabad, highlighted that the Online MBA program is the most extensive among a new generation of programs offered by the institution.
