The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has partnered with FPSB India, the Indian arm of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), to introduce the Executive Program in Financial Planning and Investment Advisory Services. This initiative aims to enhance the importance of structured financial planning education in India, aligning with the nation’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
Designed for mid-to-senior-level finance professionals, the one-year program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers advanced topics such as investment management, retirement and tax planning, estate and portfolio risk management, insurance, and alternative investments. Participants will also gain insights into regulatory frameworks, ethical standards, and behavioral finance, while emphasizing leadership, negotiation, and communication skills—key components for today’s financial advisors.
Krishan Mishra, CEO of FPSB India, emphasized that the collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of financial planning education in India. As financial advisory services continue to gain prominence, the program is set to equip professionals with the expertise necessary to navigate the complexities of the financial markets.
Prof. Joshy Jacob, a faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad, noted that financial planning plays a critical role in economic development. This program, combining academic excellence and industry expertise, promises to deliver a transformational learning experience for finance professionals.
The program follows a blended learning approach, incorporating 84 weekend online sessions and 10 days of on-campus learning at IIM Ahmedabad.
