Arunachal Pradesh Govt Boosts Education with Scholarships and Free Education

Arunachal Pradesh has unveiled a transformative budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, prioritizing education and infrastructure development. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Chowna Mein presented the budget in the eighth session of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, outlining key measures to enhance the state’s educational landscape and overall infrastructure. 

Key highlights of the Arunachal Pradesh Budget 2024 include: 

– Allocation of Rs 2,139 crore under the Arun SHRI Mission to bolster educational infrastructure. 

– Establishment of 30 new government schools and construction of residential quarters for teaching staff, aiming to meet the rising demand for quality education and improve educators’ living conditions. 

– Introduction of a 100% fee waiver for Arunachal Pradesh students enrolling in undergraduate courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), aimed at increasing accessibility to higher education. 

– Implementation of a 75% fee waiver for students pursuing commercial pilot license training, promoting careers in aviation. 

– Scholarship initiatives to support higher education: 

  – Dulari Kaniya Scheme offering Rs 50,000 to girls pursuing graduation or professional courses, aimed at fostering female education and addressing financial barriers. 

  – Arunachal Pradesh Merit Scholarship for top-performing high school students pursuing undergraduate degrees. 

  – Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students, providing financial assistance to students from Scheduled Tribes pursuing education beyond high school. 

Additionally, the budget emphasizes investment in infrastructure for engineering and degree colleges, as well as technological integration in schools and hospitals, reflecting a comprehensive approach to development across sectors in Arunachal Pradesh.
